Muswell Hill celebrates The Kinks

Muswell Hill celebrates The Kinks

Last year marked the 50th anniversary of a remarkably prescient Kinks album, Muswell Hillbillies but due to the pandemic, we could not mark this occasion.

This year with restrictions over, everyone is invited to gather in St James Square on the 10th of September from 1pm-8pm to celebrate all things Kinks!

Our local Councillors Pippa Connor and Cathy Brennan, Councillor Adam Jogee
Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Jobs and Community Cohesion, our sound engineer Brian Bogdanovic and our chief music producer Deanna Bogdanovic

We are very honoured to be initiators and one of the key organisers of this Love letter to the amazing band that is The Kinks!

There will be a stage with live music with bands performing Kinks’ songs, food and drink, dancing and well knows Muswell Hill Community Spirit celebrating one of our own.

Our chief music producer Deanna Bogdanovic, the driving force behind this fest together with Muswell Business and Friends of St James Square, said: ‘The Kinks never lost sight of the people swept up by a swiftly changing world in their music. Their songs are relevant today as they were back in 1971. So let’s all get together with neighbours and traders to celebrate not just The Kinks but our community as a whole. Muswell Hill deserves a great party, it’s been a while.’
