INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: OUR WINNER OF THE YEAR 2020 Emma Del Monaco
International Women’s Day (8th of March) is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
BonaFideStudio traditionally celebrates it by giving The Women of the Year Tribute and this 2020 we chose dancer and principal of Little London Ballet Ms Emma Del Monaco.
Emma started dance classes at the age of three at The Lisa Gail Theatre School in Nottinghamshire. During this time, she was inspired to transform from a shy little girl into a confident chatterbox with a passion for dance. Emma went on to train as a professional dancer at The London Studio Centre gaining a BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance.
Emma worked as a professional dancer and showgirl in Musical Theatre and on TV and film for several years before getting married to her personal trainer/policeman husband Marcelo. Together they have three children, Ava, Penelope and Matteo.
Emma received Distinctions in all her teaching exams through the IDTA and continues her training with the highly regarded Miss Yvonne Gout, IDTA Director and President.
Creating and inspiring the young dancers of today is Emma’s life. Through providing the highest quality of dance classes, Emma aims for her and her team to instil values of discipline, trust, loyalty, hard work and friendship into her students. But that’s not all.
She is actively involved in helping her local Muswell Hill Community by volunteering her time and often sponsoring charitable events and fetes.
And according to year 2 student Arabelle, Emma is her real-life superhero (see photo).
And we agree!
